One of the more spectacular waterfalls located in Iceland, Goðafoss waterfall or "The Waterfall Of The Gods" gets its name from the numerous Norse god statues thrown into it by Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði; the lawspeaker of the time who decidedly made Christianity the new national religion of Iceland in 999.
